Cyber Essentials is an official UK wide, government-backed certification that helps companies guard against the most common cyber threats and reduce your risk by at least 80%. It also allows you to demonstrate your commitment to cybersecurity to prospective customers.
Cyber Essentials is the product of the government and industry working together to create a government recognised cybersecurity scheme in order to help improve the cybersecurity of organisations, from large to small. Government bodies and many other organisations increasingly require businesses to possess this accreditation before being able to work with them.
Cyber Essentials Plus
The Cyber Essentials Plus scheme is the next level up. This involves the same questionnaire, but includes on-site auditing and vulnerability assessments. Some organisations and departments of the government require that potential suppliers have the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Both schemes need to be renewed annually.
